Concentrated wastewater costs less to treat. However, conventional atmospheric heated distillation of many waste streams can cause rapid corrosion of heat exchange surfaces. Tranter Shell & Plate Heat Exchangers are employed as reheaters in vacuum vaporization to recover water while concentrating non-volatiles for post-treatment. The Tranter units' high heat transfer rates optimize thermal efficiency and water recovery while minimizing maintenance overhead.
