Reconditioning
Are your plates getting so dirty that it isn’t possible to clean them
on-site? In that case we will take them to a Tranter Service and
Reconditioning Center. Each plate is logged and visually inspected. We
cross-check our database to confirm your unit's original specs, then
conduct a very close visual inspection of gaskets and contact points on
the plates to determine if there is any erosion or apparent change from
the original spec. Then, we determine the precise cleaning and
treatment process needed.
Cleaning
Our service centres use several cleaning methods that are effective and
do not pollute the environment. After washing/rinsing, the plates are
subjected to either a chemical stripping and/or a manual procedure for
gasket and scale removal. They are then subjected to immersion in a
variety of acids, compatible with the plate material, to remove the
balance of any foulants. Cleaned plates are 100% visually inspected and
a sampling of 10% is dye-penetrant tested for cracks, pinholes,
or
material failure. The plate is sprayed with dye and inspected to
locate
any pinhole leaks or cracks. If needed, plates are again pressure
washed
and rinsed to remove all traces of the dye.
Re-gasketing
Plates are re-gasketed with high quality replacement gaskets, using a
B96 softer, non-hardening, OEM-spec gasket adhesive,
which does not require heat curing. This gluing method allows for easy
field repair in the future should it be required.
Inspection
The plates are quality inspected and can be hydrostatically tested in a
frame before they are shipped to you.
