Heat Transfer Principle
The task of a heat exchanger is to transfer the heat from one flow of
medium (fluid/gas) to another - without any physical contact, i.e.
without actually mixing the two media. The idea is for one medium to
heat or cool another - not to heat or cool the exchanger itself. In
other words, the bulkier the exchanger, the less efficient it will
be.
