Why Specify PLATECOIL® Instead Of Pipecoil?
For steam applications
Compared to pipecoil or units with straight headers, Multi-Zone PLATECOIL® headers and flow arrangement provide controlled distribution of steam flow.
Condensate flow from PLATECOIL® multizone is significatntly higher compared to units with straight headers, which better utilizes the thermal efficiency of condensate. As a result, Multi-Zone PLATECOIL® provides faster heat-up and higher heat transfer rates.
For liquid phase applications
Serpentine flow PLATECOIL® allows high internal flow velocities to
be achieved. As a result, serpentine PLATECOIL® is frequently specified
for use with cold water, high temperature hot water, hot oil and
refrigerants.
When used with refrigerants, the Serpentine flow design eliminates
the possibility of “short-circuiting.”
